This course will primarily focus on programming concepts for future Networking engineers and systems administrators. Such careers do not focus on software engineering skills, but people having such roles need to have a solid understanding of creation of scripts and automating tasks.
This unit starts with a two week long crash course of HTML and CSS. PHP server side technology will then be introduced. The basics of this programming language will be discussed and various examples and exercises will be worked out. The course will move on with how online pages can be used to access and retrieve/insert data into databases. This will be done by means of PHP pages connecting to a Mysql database. Students will be assessed in a home assignment where they will be required to create a simple web application.
