This unit starts with a basic outline of the most important computer fundamentals and terminologies, leading to an in-depth study of modern hardware and peripherals in order to acquaint the students with this new universe and its sales environment. This is followed by a study of existing operating systems, their purposes, installation and elementary processes. The students will then be ready for further in-depth study of the computer internal processes starting from data representation and simple logic, progressing to a simple model of a microprocessor and controlling it by means of a low level language such as Assembly.
